Personal highlights for her so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to accompany him on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has maintained her songwriting regimen despite the ups and downs of recent times. Songwriting is an inspiring source for aspiring producers. Niykee constantly listens to beats and discovers many songs that inspire her. Within 5 seconds, I can tell what a song is or not. Then I get an idea for an original song, and start writing it immediately. I go out to my back porch with my guitar and lyrics appear and it's usually completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee has found that her pain in the past provides an endless source of inspiration. "Even when I don't write about my personal life, the sadness of losing my sister as well as my difficult childhood is incorporated into my music," she says. The loss of my sister, and the memories of my childhood shapes the songs I write. It is important for me to find a deeper meaning to everything I undertake.
